Dr. Val D. Dunn specializes in interpreting and acquiring medical imaging using such clinical imaging techniques as mammography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), radiography (x-ray) and ultrasound.

In addition to practicing Diagnostic Radiology for over thirty years, Dr. Dunn acted as chief of Radiology at American Fork Hospital for 13 years. For two years before that, he was on the full-time faculty of the University of Iowa and was the first Director of Clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging. During that time he authored or co-authored over 25 scientific publications. He also taught Radiology at Wright State University in Ohio for four years.

Dr. Dunn is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS).

After graduating from medical school at the University of Utah College of Medicine, Dr. Dunn completed a Family Practice internship at the Naval Aerospace and Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida. He then completed his specialty training at the University of Utah with a Residency in Diagnostic Radiology. He served as a Physician and Radiologist in the United States Air Force on active duty for four years. He continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve achieving the rank of Colonel.

Dr. Dunn and his wife, Laura, served a mission for 18 months as Country Directors of Humanitarian Projects in India for the LDS Church. He served as Bishop in American Fork and more recently, he and his wife are serving at the Provo MTC. They have six children and 18 grandchildren. They enjoy hiking and biking near their home in South Fork Canyon.
